Bees are responsible for one out of every three bites of food we eat, and yet they struggle to survive due to loss of habitat, pesticides, parasites and other pathogens.<\/p>\n<p>The sunflower growing competition is just one activity that forms part of Graham\u2019s broader sustainability efforts. By growing these sunflowers, our employees have helped to protect the environment, promoted resilience and encouraged biodiversity. In total, over 3,500 sunflower seeds were planted, giving bees more pollen to harvest and therefore supporting their existence.<\/p>\n<p>Many sunflowers flourished, with the tallest reaching a height of 12 ft 8 inches. (3.86 m), while others grew massive flower-heads, measuring 10 in. (25 cm) in diameter.
